The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Kazakhstan is announcing a competition for grants within the framework of the joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population aimed at creation of training apartments using technologies of independent assisted living for persons with disabilities.
The joint project aims to further support the efforts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in improving social policy in accordance with the Kazakhstan 2050 Strategy and the National Plan to ensure the rights and improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities until 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the National Plan).
Goal: realization of the rights of young people with disabilities to an independent lifestyle and involvement in the local community.
Beneficiaries
- The main beneficiaries of the project should be young people with severe and multiple developmental disabilities from 18 to 30 years old, who have the prerequisites for the formation of self-service skills, life support and interaction with others.
- Persons with disabilities living both in medical and social institutions of the system of social protection of the population and in families can be considered as beneficiaries.
- Requirements for the organization of services in the TC:
- Employees:
- availability of the required number of specialists with appropriate professional training, special professional skills and experience necessary to provide the service in accordance with the needs of the beneficiaries.
- The description of the project should contain the job responsibilities of each specialist.
- Premises
- The premises of the shopping center must comply with sanitary and epidemiological standards, building safety requirements, including fire safety, and be adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities.
- In one apartment, no more than 2 people should be accommodated in one room.
Conditions of the Competition
- non-profit organizations registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Applicant/Grant Recipient) can participate in the competition;
- applications of organizations not registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan will not be considered; political groups carrying out active political activities; commercial organizations.
- Commercial organizations may act as a partner of the Grantee;
- Cities such as Shymkent, Nur-Sultan and Almaty cannot be the place for the implementation of the announced projects .
- the declared activity must be consistent with the statutory goals and statutory activities of the organization-C of the applicant;
- work within the framework of the project should not duplicate the activities of organizations and projects financed by other donors, but may complement it;
- the project should be implemented in partnership with stationary medical and social institutions of the system of social protection of the population and (or) local executive bodies in the field of special social services;
- funding is expected one application with a project budget of no more than 21,723,500 tenge (up to 50,000 US dollars).
- Grants are made subject to co-financing and/or in-kind contributions from the organization;
- the project implementation period should not exceed 15 months;
- UNDP in Kazakhstan reserves the right to exercise control over the spending of targeted funds and the implementation of the project, without interfering in the activities of the organization;
- the application for participation is submitted in accordance with the attached Application Form, each item of which must be completed.
- Applicants may be asked for additional information during the application process. Submitted applications will not be returned.
