The Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is seeking applications for its field surveys focusing on people with disabilities in order to promote and implement the recommendations set with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
UNDP social inclusion programme initiates project that aims at generating proxy data to understand the numbers and locations of people with disabilities and the prevalence of specific disabilities. Field surveys and focus groups will engage people with disabilities to catalogue the barriers they face and the services they feel they need most.
Program Objectives
- To provide a comprehensive analysis of the current needs of persons with disabilities in the three regions in the country. To identify the main barriers to their participation in the labour market and in daily activities and to clarify which services are already available and which need to be developed.
- To provide a comprehensive analysis of the needs of people with disabilities who live in the biological families (with old age parents), focused on prevention of deinstitutionalization and the needs of services in the local communities.
- To provide a comprehensive analysis of the current needs of persons with disabilities who are placed in foster families, to identify the quality of provided care, cost analysis of cash transfer for care, need of additional services and support.
Duty Station and Duration of the Program
- The surveys will be held in three regions: Skopje, North-East and Pelagonia regions.
- The assignment shall be completed as per the agreed timeframe in a period of maximum one and a half (1.5) months, in the period November 2016 – 20thDecember 2016.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum Qualifications of the service provider(s)
- At least 3 years of experience in conducting field surveys in the country.
- Reference list of at least 3 relevant surveys based on representative statistical sample of the population by using face to face survey method over the past 5 years (list of reference projects and contacts shall be included); Experience in conducting a survey focused on people with disabilities will be considered as an asset.
- Demonstrated organizational capacity to produce and analyze high quality and accurate data.
- The service provider(s) shall submit a reference list and a list of similar projects, as well as submit evidence of capacity and experience.
- Team Leader’s qualifications
- At least Master’s degree
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience particularly as relates to statistics and random sampling/ analysis
- At least 3 conducted field surveys with the face-to-face methodology
- Experience in research or work with people with disabilities will be considered as an asset.
