Call for Proposals: Advancing Women’s Role in the Digital Economy (Uzbekistan)

CFPs: Supporting local CSOs focused on Peacebuilding and Recovery of Displaced Women and Girls (Moldova)

Deadline: 16-Oct-2025

UN Women Uzbekistan is launching an initiative to engage a local non-governmental organization (NGO) to deliver a series of training activities aimed at strengthening women’s participation in the digital economy.

The program seeks to enhance women’s digital and financial literacy, enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to long-term economic growth.

This initiative is part of the Global Accelerator Joint Program under “Objective 1.7: Skills Development for Women Entrepreneurship.” The program focuses on advancing women’s economic empowerment by equipping them with market-relevant skills to engage equally and effectively in entrepreneurship and employment. It emphasizes the development of women’s capacity to manage sustainable businesses and to participate in emerging sectors such as the digital and green economies.

The budget range for proposals is between  30,000 USD and 50,000 USD. By investing in skills training, including digital fluency, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and e-commerce, the program aims to address gender disparities in labor participation, income generation, and access to decent work. It aligns women’s skills with current and future labor market needs, supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Over the course of the project, 250 women are expected to receive training, with 20 participants earning certification through a Training of Trainers (ToT) program. The initiative aims for at least half of the trained women to launch or expand income-generating activities using digital marketing and e-commerce tools.

Eligible proponents must meet all pre-qualification criteria outlined in Annex B-1 and will be assessed on a pass/fail basis. UN Women reserves the right to verify all submitted information and may request additional documentation. Incomplete applications or misrepresentation will lead to disqualification.

This opportunity represents a significant step toward building a more inclusive and equitable digital economy in Uzbekistan—empowering women with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to thrive in an evolving global market.
