The AI for Economic Opportunity Fund is launching its third round, inviting innovative proposals that demonstrate how artificial intelligence can transform systems that shape economic opportunity.
Projects might reimagine service delivery, enable personalized education and training, improve efficiency at scale, or create new ways to connect people with income, skills, benefits, and opportunities. Both transformative and incremental approaches are encouraged, provided they have the potential to drive meaningful, lasting impact.
Selected grantees will receive $250,000 in catalytic funding to develop and prototype their solutions, along with six months of cohort-based technical support from OpenAI engineers and experts. They will also gain API credits and access to a network of leading practitioners and funders focused on advancing AI for economic mobility. Awardees may be eligible for additional scaling funds through project partners to expand the reach and impact of their work.
Eligible applicants include US-based nonprofit organizations, though projects can operate in international markets. Partnerships between nonprofits and for-profit startups, consultants, or technology experts are encouraged. For-profit social enterprises may be considered individually if their mission aligns with the fund’s goals, and they may use a fiscal sponsor or nonprofit partner to participate.
