The United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) in Nepal is seeking applications for its sixty-first session of the Commission on the Status of Women 2017 (CSW61) to support participation of Nepali civil society which will take place from 13 to 24 March 2017.
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. A functional commission of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), it was established by Council resolution 11(II) of 21 June 1946.

- Priority theme: Women’s economic empowerment in the changing world of work
- Review theme: Challenges and achievements in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals for women and girls (agreed conclusions of the fifty-eighth session)
- Emerging issue/Focus area: The empowerment of indigenous women
Eligibility Criteria
Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to attend the session.
