Applications open for ACF Academy Boot Camp

Deadline: 31-Jul-2025

The African Culture Fund (ACF), in collaboration with AFREXIMBANK, has launched its sixth call for applications aimed at cultural managers and artists from North Africa. This initiative is part of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), which will take place in Algiers.

The program seeks to foster the emergence, professionalization, and networking of young talents in cultural management. It addresses common challenges faced by these professionals, including limited access to technical tools, professional networks, and creative spaces. To counter these issues, the initiative offers structured support through specialized training, artistic exchanges, and networking opportunities.

This opportunity serves as both a learning and creative platform. It underlines ACF’s commitment to strengthening Africa’s cultural and creative industries (CCI) while promoting regional artistic identities and sustainable development.

The objectives of the program include enhancing technical, managerial, and legal skills of young professionals in visual arts through masterclasses on topics such as creation, intellectual property, and international visibility. It also seeks to improve participants’ understanding of market dynamics and promote the protection of African artists’ work globally.

The initiative encourages an integrated approach to cultural entrepreneurship based on the Maaya values, supporting sustainable and locally rooted projects. It also aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices among North African cultural practitioners in the spirit of intra-African cooperation.

To be eligible, applicants must be aged between 21 and 40, reside in a North African country, and be either a visual artist, cultural manager, or cultural administrator. A minimum of three years of professional experience in the sector is required, and participants must be fully available for the program’s activities.

The selection process involves five stages: registration, administrative verification, evaluation by a selection committee, approval of final candidates, and publication of results. Applications will be assessed on motivation, artistic and professional background, originality, and the coherence of their artistic approach.

Interested individuals must submit their applications in either French or English. Required documents include a completed application form, updated CV, motivation letter, a copy of a valid ID, a portfolio of recent works, and a short description of an artistic project.
