The Sri Sri Awards provide a distinguished platform to recognize and honor outstanding contributions in the field of education.

The objectives are to recognize and celebrate excellence, effort, and progress across educational institutions in India; to empower and support schools that focus on the holistic development of students and teachers beyond academics and employ innovative practices to enhance teaching and learning; to encourage institutions that actively involve parents and other stakeholders in policymaking and its implementation; to acknowledge schools that facilitate a smooth transition for students from school to career; to honor institutions that integrate ancient wisdom with modern 21st-century skills; to recognize schools that promote spirituality, environmental awareness, human values, and peace education; and to celebrate schools that foster leadership, social, and emotional development in students.

The awards focus on Pedagogy & Academic Excellence, Skill development programs for students, Innovative Teaching-Learning practices, Helping Students to choose their career path, Inclusion of subjects from Indian Traditional Systems as well as new subjects relevant to manage 21st century environment, Community Service & Environmental Awareness, Spiritual Development & Value-based education, Yoga, Sports & Physical Education, Art & Culture, and Emotional Intelligence.

Winners in the Overall Excellence in Education and Excellence in Holistic Education categories will receive a trophy, certificate, and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, while the runners-up will receive a trophy, certificate, and ₹75,000. Each Best Educator awardee will receive a plaque, certificate, and ₹51,000. Additionally, the jury may award “Special Mention” certificates to schools demonstrating significant traits outlined in the evaluation criteria.

The Sri Sri Awards include three major categories: Overall Excellence in Education, Excellence in Holistic Education, and Best Educator, with the latter recognizing educators in the North, South, East, and West zones of India. Schools eligible for the first two award categories must have been operational for a minimum of eight years, have at least 1000 students, and cater to classes from KG1 to Class 10th and above. Past winners are eligible to apply only after a three-year gap, while schools with previous special mention certificates can also apply.

The Best Educator Award has no restrictions on school size or age, but the nominee must have at least ten years of teaching experience or significant contributions beyond teaching, and self-nomination is not allowed. The last date for applications is 1st November 2025, and the awards will be announced and presented in January 2026.
