Call for Applications: Visegrad Fellowship Program

Apply for Immuno-Informatics Postdoctoral Fellowship

Deadline: 30-Nov-2025

The Visegrad Fellowship Program offers funding of individual short-term stays for scholars, lecturers, and researchers (citizens of Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Ukraine) in V4 countries others than that of their citizenship and current residence.

The fellowships are provided for a limited period ranging from 2 to 10 weeks during which the respective Fellow is to conduct (or participate in) an in-person research project, hold lecture(s) or seminars at a higher-education level, or study or review specific sets of written or other materials available in a public archive or library.

All citizens of V4 countries and of Ukraine are eligible to apply to work at host institutions in any V4 country other than those of their citizenship and of their residence at the time of applying. Eligible host institutions include accredited public or private higher-education institutions, public archives, and public or private research and development institutions.

Applicants must be full-time doctoral students or researchers/lecturers, either independent or affiliated with an institution, who hold a doctoral degree. Each applicant is allowed to submit only one application per deadline, and in cases where multiple applications are submitted, only the first will be considered.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the My Visegrad online system and accompanied by specific documents including a valid photo ID, proof of doctoral degree or enrolment in a doctoral program, an invitation letter from the host institution detailing the fellowship, and a recommendation letter either from the affiliated institution or a relevant expert.

The support takes the form of a lump sum scholarship amounting to €500 per week, which is paid in two instalments, 80% at the beginning and 20% upon completion of the fellowship.

The applications can be submitted throughout the year in two terms, between January 1 and May 31, and between September 1 and November 30, though the Fund reserves the right to close the call earlier for capacity reasons. The evaluation process includes reviewing eligibility, qualifications, clarity of the proposal, and its regional relevance, with decisions communicated within 20 working days.

The Fund may approve or reject applications, or recommend a shorter fellowship period depending on available capacities. Evaluation criteria include academic credentials and work experience, coherence and justification of the research plan, and the regional relevance of the topic in connection to the chosen host. The decision of the Fund is final and cannot be appealed.
