Call for EOIs: Integrating Oky into Reproductive Health Education and Services (Philippines)

Open Call for Proposals for Farm Safety, Health and Wellbeing Projects (Ireland)

Deadline: 03-Oct-2025

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has launched a new initiative in the Philippines aimed at strengthening adolescent health and education through the integration of the Oky app into reproductive health education and local health service delivery systems.

With a funding allocation of $255,000, this project focuses on the City of Catbalogan in Samar and the Province of Maguindanao del Sur, targeting both the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and the Eastern Visayas Region (Region VIII).

The project seeks to create and refine Oky-themed learning delivery tools tailored for both in-school and community-based settings, ensuring they are adaptable to BARMM and non-BARMM contexts. It will also ensure that the Oky Philippines app is hosted, regularly maintained, and updated with inclusive content and localized language support to enhance its effectiveness as a learning tool for adolescents.

Additionally, the initiative will enhance the design and functionality of the Help Desk system, building a comprehensive database of adolescent health services in Region VIII and BARMM. This system will be integrated into the health service referral and delivery networks in two local government units, providing streamlined access to essential services for young people.

By the end of the project, UNICEF aims to increase the number of Oky users by at least 3,000 and establish a system for analyzing and using data collected from the app—particularly cycle patterns—to improve health interventions. This approach is expected to promote comprehensive sexuality education, support adolescent health, and improve hygiene awareness, ultimately empowering young people with the knowledge and resources they need for better well-being.
