The current mobility restrictions due to the corona pandemic require creative and innovative ideas in order to maintain the German-Turkish youth exchange. The German-Turkish Youth Bridge invites you to develop them jointly and, from July 1 to November 30, 2020, supports bilateral projects with model character in the field of school and extra-curricular work with young people with the support of the Federal Foreign Office.
Eight projects that try out creative methods for virtual youth exchange and thereby stimulate new forms of exchange and encounter are funded with up to 15,000 euros. By networking the projects with each other and their close professional support by digital experts, the model projects contribute to the exchange of ideas and a collection of good examples.
The German-Turkish Youth Bridge intensifies the German-Turkish student and youth exchange and improves the opportunities for mutual exchange with concrete projects and the bundling of existing programs. The aim is to create a better understanding of one another in both countries and to further strengthen relationships. Since then, it has brought over 7,000 participants in over 300 projects and is a central contact in school and youth exchange between Germany and Turkey.
Requirements
- The tender for model projects is aimed at non-profit or public actors from the field of school and extracurricular education and youth work in Germany and Turkey who are interested in German-Turkish youth exchange using digital means and who have developed initial project ideas for this. They are looking for projects that open up new digital spaces and methods for German-Turkish youth exchange across a range of topics. In the foreground of the joint examination of the young people with self-determined topics should be encounter and exchange as well as shared learning and experience processes.
- At least ten adolescents and young adults from Germany and from Turkey between the ages of 12 and 27 should participate actively.
