Secondary Boarding School and Skills Development Bursaries (Zambia)

European Commission’s School Education Program to enhance Basic Skills

The Mansa Municipal Council is inviting applications for the Secondary Boarding School and Skills Development Bursaries under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund for both Bahati and Mansa Central constituencies. Interested learners should apply to the town clerk at the Mansa Municipal Council and submit their applications through the Ward Development Committees.

To be eligible for the Secondary Boarding School bursary, a learner must be enrolled in a public boarding school and be a resident of the constituency. Applicants should have completed grade 8 or be currently enrolled in grades 9 to 12. The bursary also targets school dropouts who failed to pay fees, learners in boarding schools but living in nearby villages due to unpaid boarding fees, and double or single orphans whose guardians or surviving parents lack reliable income. Learners with disabilities, those whose parents are disabled or have no reliable income, learners whose guardians have no reliable income, and learners on the school re-entry project without family support from poor, vulnerable, and incapacitated households are also eligible.

For the Skills Development bursary, applicants must be Zambian citizens holding a green national registration card and be aged between 16 and under 35 years. They must have lived in the constituency for more than six months. Additionally, applicants need an admission letter from any public TEVET institution or the Zambia National Service. Entrepreneurs who are out of school and require up-skilling or re-skilling are also encouraged to apply.
