Seven Projects in Kenya benefits from Kshs 45.4 Million Grant!

The Ambassador of Japan to Kenya and the representatives of seven grantee organizations at the Embassy in Nairobi, H.E. Mr. Toshitsugu Uesawa has signed seven Grant Contracts for GGP worth more than USD 457,000 (approx. Kshs 45.4Million).

The Government of Japan has been providing funds to non-profit organizations such as Self Help groups, CBOs, NGOs, Schools, Medical Institutions and County Governments through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) since 1989.

The list of beneficiaries are as follows: The Project for Construction of Classrooms at Kwadadu Primary School – USD 50,156 (approx. 5.0M), The Project for the Development of Educational Infrastructure at Gabina Primary School – USD 84,409. (approx. 8.4M), The Project for the Development of Educational Infrastructure at Reten Primary School – USD 72,404 (approx. 7.2M), The Project for the Development of Educational Infrastructure at Reteti Primary School – USD 81,622 (approx. Kshs 8.1 M), The Project for the Development of Educational Infrastructure at Leng’arde Primary School – USD 51,519 (approx. Kshs 5.1 M), The Project for Construction of Dormitories at Gesiaga Secondary School – USD 89,952 (approx. Kshs 8.9 M), The Project for Improvement of Educational and Hygienic Environment for Kondoro Primary School – USD 27,514 (approx. Kshs 2.7 M)

On this ocasion Ambassador Uesawa congratulated the seven organizations which were selected from more than 900 applications received in 2017. He wished them success and assured them of the Embassy’s support during the implementation period.
