The O’Donnell Trust Fund Scholarships in New Zealand

Zolve Global Scholarship Program

Deadline: 30-Sep-2025

The Public Trust is currently accepting applications for the O’Donnell Trust Fund Scholarships. These scholarships are designed to support students living in the area around Palmerston North who wish to further their education in music, ballet, or singing.

The goal of the scholarships is to help students achieve professional qualifications in their chosen performing arts field. The funding also supports students in reaching their long-term career aspirations in the arts.

Scholarships range from $5,000 to $10,000 per year and can be awarded for up to three years. The funds must be used for educational expenses, including tuition fees, Halls of Residence costs, student loan repayments, travel, laptops, stationery, books, and other study-related costs.

It is preferred that scholarship payments go directly to the educational provider. Recipients must be enrolled in the course of study outlined in their application. Funds cannot be used for purchasing a car or a mobile phone.

To be eligible, applicants must be New Zealand-born or naturalised citizens and permanent residents living within 30 kilometers of The Square in Palmerston North. They must have demonstrated outstanding talent in music, ballet, or singing within New Zealand.

Applicants must plan to begin study within 12 months of the scholarship closing date. The course must be at least one year long and can be taken at an appropriate university, polytechnic, school, or academy, either in New Zealand or overseas.
