The Conservation Council ACT Region has announced the nominations for ACT Environment Awards 2022 to celebrate the efforts and accomplishments of environmentalists and environment groups, and the contributions they have made to the environment in the ACT and beyond.
Aims
The Award is to recognise the efforts of the recipient(s) to contribute to the protection of the environment. Judges will take into account:
- Significance of their contribution to the environment;
- Time and effort of the contribution, including the quantity of work, the level of dedication and whether it was voluntary or paid
- The challenges they faced and/or overcame in achieving their goals;
- Community and leadership skills, including their effectiveness in motivating and empowering others
- The creativity and innovation they have brought to the issue
Award Categories
The awards are:
- ACT Environmentalist of the Year
- Young Environmentalist of the Year (28 years or under)
Eligibility Criteria
- A person in the ACT community aged 28 or under who has made a significant contribution to the environment. They accept applications from all races, religions and genders and look forward to diversity of applications.
