Applications are now open for the India Clean Air Challenge that is designed to help scale the innovations most capable of solving India’s air pollution challenges.
The mission of the challenge is to create pathways for wider adoption of clean air technologies, demonstrate the value proposition of clean air technologies for government and industry, and mobilize a supportive global ecosystem to scale clean air innovations that can positively shape the future of India.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible startups will have a technology, process, solution, or model that is technically viable, has been tested and validated minimally through relevant lab certifications and is ready to deploy in an at-scale demonstration with the government. Applicants will be required to call out potential areas of alignment with government mandates and project climate impacts in a verifiable manner. Winning applicants may be category creators or provide incremental solutions that deliver a minimum of 15% improvement over existing solutions.
- The Challenge will favor solutions that have an ability to have an outsized impact on air quality, be scalable within a geography and transferable to other localities and have a sustainable business model. If a winning company is not ready to deploy, this could result in disqualification.
