Funding Details

  • Pure research projects (considered under the THT Research Grant)

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible organisations must:

• Be Indian registered not-for-profit entities (Society, Trust, Section 8 company, or Section 35(1)(ii) institute)

• Have been functionally active for at least three years

• Conduct direct conservation work on India’s natural habitats and threatened species by 31st March 2025

• Demonstrate an average expenditure of at least INR 30 lakhs over the last three financial years

• Hold a valid CSR-1 certificate, 12A registration, and 80G certificate, unless covered by Section 35(1)(ii)

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

• A detailed project proposal demonstrating holistic design and long-term impact

• Peer-reviewed publications supporting conservation methodology

• Reliable justification for projects involving data-deficient habitats or species

• Relevant organisational documents: audited financial statements, tax certificates, byelaws, and FCRA documentation (if applicable)

• Budget in Indian Rupees

• Only one application per organisation per cycle is permitted

• Applications must be submitted through the official online portal in English

Project Requirements

• Projects must be carried out entirely within India

• Grantees must be based in India for the entire duration of the project

• Key personnel involved must declare postgraduate, PhD, or postdoctoral enrollment, with confirmation that the project is distinct from their academic research
