To reduce the leakage of plastic waste into the ocean, WWF Global has launched the Plastic Smart Cities (PSC) Pillar which aims to collaborate with priority cities around the world to stop the leakage of plastic waste into nature.
To achieve this goal, WWFIndonesia, with the support of WWF-Norway and TVA Norway, has collaborated with the City Government of Jakarta, Depok City and Bogor City to reduce plastic consumption and manage plastic waste. In its implementation, WWF-Indonesia provides support to strategic partners for plastic waste management, such as Waste Banks, NGOs, Start-Ups, Companies, Associations and other stakeholders.
In order to increase the synergy of plastic waste management in the City of Jakarta, Depok City and Bogor City, the WWF-Indonesia PSC Program is opening proposals for funding plastic waste management in these 3 cities.
Call for Plastic Waste Management Proposals
There are 2 types of proposals that the proposing institution can choose from, as follows:
- Proposal Type 1: Project with a maximum budget of IDR 2 billion, with special requirements to have a plastic waste management capacity (collecting/ recycling/ upcycling) of at least 1500 tonnes per year.
- Proposal Type 2: Project with a maximum budget of IDR 1 billion, with a plastic waste management capacity requirement (collecting/ recycling/ upcycling) of at least 750 tons per year.
Requirements
The general requirements of the proposal proposing agency are:
- The proposing institution must choose one of the proposal types above;
- The proposing institution has a potential partner entity for waste management in accordance with Indonesian legislation.
- The proposing institution has collaboration with partners or potential partners in one or more cities in the target cities above.
- Institution that proposes standardization of occupational health and safety and environmental protection.
