Applications for the 2021 City of Burnside Business Awards are now open and they invite businesses within the Council area to nominate for one of the four (4) categories.
Categories
- Emerging and Empowered – This is for newcomers (less than three (3) years in operation) that are starting out and already making an impact.
- Social Change Maker – Where making a positive impact is at the core of their purpose. Applying innovative solutions to address social issues and improve the world they live in. Open to not-for-profit, social enterprise and profit-for-purpose organisations (contributing a minimum of 10 per cent of their profits to the cause).
- Environmental Impactors – For organisations where a positive environmental outcome is the priority. Focusing on sustainability and climate change adaption initiatives, this category is open to all organisations.
- Small and Succeeding – For businesses that are punching above their weight. This category is open to businesses with an annual turnover less than $3m and under 100 employees.
Eligibility Criteria
- Your business must operate within the City of Burnside area.
- Your business must be registered for an ABN.
- Information to support the nomination should explain, illustrate and highlight the business’s achievements in the applicable areas.
- An applicant must maintain appropriate business ethics and demonstrate a commitment to legal obligations including anti-bribery laws.
- Businesses may nominate or be nominated in more than one category, but will only be eligible to win in one category.
- Nominations can be lodged by business owners, employees and the general public.
- Event sponsors are ineligible to apply.
- Subsidiaries and franchises are eligible but must be identified as such in nomination.
Assessment of Applications
- Nominated judges will identify finalists and winners in each of the four (4) categories.
- Judges decisions are final and at the discretion of the City of Burnside.
- If the judges are not satisfied that any entry meets the required standard in any entered category, the judges may, at their discretion, not award a winner.
- The Business Awards are presented by the City of Burnside (and any potential sponsor).
