The Nigerian Conservation Foundation, a leading environmental conservation organisation in Nigeria with strong affiliations with global organisations such as IUCN, WWF and BirdLife International is seeking 20 young Nigerians who are actively involved in conservation initiatives for partnership, funding opportunities and global recognition.
These individuals must be currently engaged in conservation projects which must be verifiable, within any community in Nigeria or in the area of environmental education, policy and advocacy. Individuals whose work delivers optimum impact stand a better chance of being selected.
Young Leaders can have opportunities for grants from NCF and its national and international partners and will be promoted on national and international platforms. They will also be recognised at appropriate NCF public events and be part of NCF network of conservation promoters.
The Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) is the premier Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) dedicated to nature conservation and sustainable development in Nigeria. Established in 1980, the Foundation was registered in 1982 as a Charitable Trust under the Land (Perpetual Succession) Act of 1961 – a policy that was replaced by the Company and Allied Matters Act of 1990.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the selection, the applicants must meet the following criteria:
- No more than 35 years of age by next birthday.
- Must be active in nature conservation activities over the last 3 years.
- Demonstrate impact of their work at community, national & international level which must be verifiable.
- Be a Nigerian.
