Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Republic of Congo

Deadline: 13-Oct-2025

The Australian Frailty Network is requesting applications for its Frailty-ADD CRE Seed Grant Scheme to improve outcomes for frail patients in hospital settings.

The paragraph addresses the environmental impacts of offshore renewable energy on marine biodiversity, including effects on habitats, species, and cumulative impacts throughout all development stages. It highlights the need for monitoring and assessment methods, mitigation strategies, biodiversity-friendly designs, nature-based solutions, integration with marine spatial planning, and policy analysis to protect marine ecosystems.

Two grants of up to AU$10,000 each will be awarded for projects with a maximum duration of 24 months. One grant will support a project focusing on nursing, pharmacy, or allied health, while the other will support a project focusing on medicine or surgery. Grant recipients are expected to attend and present at the AFN Summit in Brisbane in 2026, with registration costs covered and a travel bursary of up to $1,000 available.

Applicants must be employed by an Australian entity such as a university, hospital, or research institute. They must be early career researchers and/or health or allied health practitioners registered with a relevant board or society. Eligible applicants must be within five years post-PhD, with no more than five years of research experience relative to opportunity, though prior research experience is not required. The proposed research must directly contribute to improved outcomes for frail patients in hospital settings and must not already be funded, though it may build on an existing project.

Applications will be assessed by a diverse panel of clinical academics based on the significance and impact of the research, methodological rigour, and feasibility. Involvement of consumers such as patients, caregivers, or community members throughout the research cycle is encouraged where appropriate. These grants are intended to help early career researchers and health practitioners establish foundational projects that can lead to larger future funding opportunities.

The application process requires details of the applicant and supervisor, eligibility information, a career summary, a study proposal, a budget justification, a letter of support from the nominated supervisor, a short CV, and confirmation of submission. Proposals must be no longer than three pages, adhere to strict formatting guidelines, and follow section headings that include title, background, aims, methodology, expected outcomes, project significance, enablers, timeline, and references.

Applications open on Monday 1 September 2025 and close on Monday 13 October 2025 at 17:00 AEST. Successful applicants will be notified in December 2025 and must accept the grant via email within two weeks of notification.
