Call for EOIs: Developing a Programme for Inter-School Cooperation “Community of Schools” (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund is seeking applications for Developing a Programme for Inter-School Cooperation “Community of Schools”.

This project aims to strengthen social cohesion, respect for diversity, and trust among communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Specifically, it should enhance mutual understanding among young adolescents, schools and teachers through inclusive education, cultural diversity and environmental initiatives. Within this project framework, UNICEF leads the implementation of the education component in general, with specific focus on Community led activities with adolescents and young people.

The program proposed by CSO should outline a structured approach on how to organiye inter-school collaboration, build and strengthen teacher capacities and support students while contributing to broader social cohesion and peacebuilding efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Eligible Activities

• The proposed strategy and plan should additionally entail a clear approach to ensuring equal participation of boys and girls in all activities and to include students and teachers from marginalized or vulnerable backgrounds. Activities should:
  • Enable joint collaborative learning, exchange of good practices and long-lasting relationships among participating schools.
  • Organize and implement a tailor-made joint learning training for students on topics such as: cooperation, problem solving, critical and creative thinking, empathy, respect for diversity, participation, communication and project management.
  • Support and enhance collaborative initiatives between students and teachers on themes: – Social cohesion and peacebuilding – Gender equality – Cultural diversity – Environmental protection and – Community development
  • Facilitate partnerships between schools for joint projects and knowledge sharing, exchange visits, interactive workshops and joint activities among schools to foster dialogue, peacebuilding and trust.
  • Propose and support the mechanisms for sustainable cooperation among schools in long term period

Eligibility Criteria

• The applying CSO must:
  • be legally registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina not be an entity named on any of the UN Security Council targeted sanction lists have a proven track record in working with schools, generally in education, peacebuilding, youth engagement or social cohesion projects demonstrate experience in working with schools, students and educational institutions have the technical and organizational capacity to implement the described activities Exclusion Criteria CSO submission which:
    • are not submitted before the specified deadline
    • do not include all required documents duly completed or do not comply with specifications set in this Call for Expression of Interest
    • are not submitted in English will be excluded from the selection process.
