The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund is currently requesting applications for its creating a sustainable environment for improving health and nutrition in schools through the Local Produce-based School Feeding Program in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The UNICEF goal is to support the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in improving food security, nutrition, healthcare, and ensuring equal access to education for children School farms play a crucial role in improving education, food security, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture.

These farms serve as hands-on learning environments that provide students with practical agricultural skills, promote healthy eating habits, supply the food to school meals, and contribute to local food systems. A key component of this activity is the establishment of school farms in 50 schools and provision of necessary training and equipment.
