The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund is accepting applications to Improve Conditions in Educational Centers for Strengthen the Resilience of the School Community and Prevent Diseases Derived from the Lack of Adequate Services ASH in 45 schools (lot 2) Sacapulas, Quiché.

The objective of this call for proposals, at the strategic level, is consistent with the fulfillment of UNICEF’s core commitments for children (CCCs), the UNICEF Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Strategy 2016-2030, and is included in the UNICEF Guatemala Country Program Document (CPD 2022-2025), which establishes among its priorities and partnerships the promotion of increasing the proportion of schools with basic sanitation services.

When girls and boys are provided with access to safe water, sanitation and adequate facilities for the development of hygiene practices in educational units, they have a favorable environment to study, learn and develop their full potential, while providing more opportunities for girls to attend school during their periods.
