Apply Now: Catalytic Foundation Grants for Community Charities (New Zealand)

Kingston Council's Community Resilience Fund – United Kingdom

Deadline: 17-Oct-2025

The Catalytic Foundation in New Zealand is offering a valuable grant opportunity for small to medium community-based organisations that provide direct social services to families, whanau, and individuals.

Organisations without large fundraising or marketing departments are especially encouraged to apply, as the funding is designed to make a real difference for those who serve at the grassroots level.

Grant amounts generally fall between $2,000 and $10,000, allowing charities to cover project costs or essential operating expenses like rent, utilities, wages or day-to-day running costs. Smaller purchases under $3,000 are also considered, helping organisations address immediate and practical needs.

The Foundation supports groups across regions including Auckland, Manawatū/Horowhenua, Whanganui, Canterbury, South Canterbury, Otago and Southland. Organisations applying must be registered charities or incorporated societies and have been operating for at least two years. Prior accountability—such as completing past reports if they’ve received Catalytic funding before—is expected.

Certain kinds of organisations and expenses are ineligible. Examples include schools, government agencies, art organisations, sport clubs, fixed assets, overseas travel, medical treatment, and purchases exceeding certain cost thresholds. The idea is to safeguard the grant for community services rather than large capital or specialised institutional costs.
