The George Alexander Foundation and the International Specialised Skills Institute (ISS Institute) is offering one (1) International applied research Fellowship in the amount of $10,000 each in the later half of 2022.
ISS Institute is seeking candidates for this Fellowship who are interested in exploring new and leading practice, innovation and leadership opportunities in Skill Enhancement areas within the environment and sustainability, alternative energy or education industry or sectors. However, if you have an innovative Fellowship in an alternative field this will also be considered.
Focus Areas
The 2022 George Alexander Foundation International Fellowship provides an opportunity for individuals aged between 18 – 35 years to acquire higher-level skills and drive leading practice and innovation in Australia. It is intended that the Fellowship will demonstrate potential benefits for, and application in, Australia. Applications should focus on the following areas:
- Developing artisan skills
- Developing and nurturing heritage skills and lost trades.
- Environment and Sustainability, Alternative Energy & Education
Funding Information
ISS Institute) is offering one (1) International applied research Fellowship in the amount of $10,000 each in the later half of 2022.
What does a Fellowship involve?
- Fellows must use their Fellowship payment to undertake applied international research overseas.
- Overseas Fellowship research may include meeting knowledgeable leaders, conducting interviews, observation, immersion in workplaces, undertaking specialized training or attending specialist conferences.
- Fellows must manage their Fellowship funds personally to arrange their travel and international activities.
- Fellows must prepare a formal Fellowship Report documenting findings and recommendations for industrial try/skills enhancement in Australia within 12 months of receiving their Fellowship. ISS Institute will assist with the editing, design and publication of this Fellowship Report.
- Fellows participate in a Fellowship Induction Program and are proudly supported by ISS Institute staff throughout the Fellowship period (and beyond).
- Fellows must arrange for time off work with their employer to undertake the overseas applied research component of their Fellowship. While the Fellowship is being awarded to the individual and not their employer, it is important that the employer supports the individual’s application and will enable to individual to meet Fellowship obligations.
- Fellows will be supported throughout their Fellowship by the ISS Institute team

- Australian residents aged between 18 – 35 years.
