The Rural Bank has announced the applications for Rural Bank Agribusiness TAFE Scholarship Program that aims to assist outstanding but disadvantaged students, who have been offered a full-time place at an Australian TAFE or college for the first time in 2023.
The Scholarship program supports the following study related expenses – accommodation costs, course costs, study-related materials/equipment, textbooks, tutoring and /or education related travel (within Australia).
Benefits
- The Scholarship award value is $5,000 per year for maximum of 2 years / or for the duration of the successful recipient’s course (up to a maximum of 2 years, whichever is the lesser) for each successful recipient, subject to the criteria set out above and satisfactory academic performance in the first year of study.
Eligibility Criteria
- Key qualification criteria:
- You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- You will be a first-time, first year undergraduate in 2023 – this is your first attendance at TAFE or college;
- You will be studying a full-time Agribusiness or agriculture – Certificate I, II, III or IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate degree in an approved Australian course at an Australian TAFE or college campus;
- You graduated from secondary school in either 2022 or in 2021 (you took a gap year);
- You can demonstrate the disadvantage (economic &/or social) hindering your ability to undertake tertiary education; and
- You can demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and extensive community involvement.
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
