Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is now accepting applications for its 2016-2017 RFE/RL Regional Reporting Fellowship with an aim to practice independent, fact-based journalism in support of democracy and human rights.
The RFE/RL Regional Reporting Fellowship contributes to the professional development of aspiring journalists in Eastern Partnership countries in support of media freedom and independence in the region.
Benefits
- Fellows receive a monthly stipend for the term of the program that is consistent with the local wage scale, workspace at the RFE/RL local bureau, and paid travel and accommodations for the trip to Prague.
- Housing may be provided for Fellows who must relocate to the capital city to work at the local bureau.
Eligibility Criteria
Local journalists from Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine are eligible to apply.

- All materials must be submitted in English electronically at the address given on the website.
- Application materials:
- Cover letter: to include the applicant’s reasons for applying to the program; journalistic interests, values, or experiences that would qualify the applicant for the program; and the applicant’s professional goals following the Fellowship’s completion.
- CV: to include personal data, professional experience and affiliations, educational background, and language proficiency. (English-language proficiency is not required.)
- Two work samples in the applicant’s working language, published within the last 12 months.
