The Roma Education Fund – an organizational unit of the Roma Education Fund – Roma Oktatási Alap (REF) – announces a call for applications for support in the program Support for Education and Acquisition of Skills of Young Roma.
The Roma Education Fund has been implementing a project entitled Support for the Education and Skills of Young Roma since April 2018. The total project implementation period is 5 years, the period from 1 April 2018 to 31 December 2022, it includes 4 school years. The project is being implemented in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
In the academic year 2021/2022, support will be provided to 50 Roma full-time students of secondary vocational schools from the Banská Bystrica Region, Košice and Prešov Region, who are studying the departments currently required by the labor market. The intention of the REF is to increase the number of Roma with completed secondary vocational education through the implementation of the project, who will acquire the necessary skills for successful employment in the labor market.

Eligibility Criteria
- declare one’s Roma nationality
- age from 14 to 18 years
- study at a secondary vocational school with a high school diploma
- study of a field that currently requires the labor market
- maximum diameter of marks up to 2.5
- permanent residence within the Banská Bystrica, Košice and Prešov regions.
