The Auckland Council is seeking applications for the Tūpuna Maunga Authority Research Scholarship.
The Tūpuna Maunga Authority (TMA) is offering an annual $10,000 funding pool to support students who wish to undertake research on the Tūpuna Maunga.
Researchers should aim to provide value to the Tūpuna Maunga, enhancing the mana of these taonga tuku iho (treasures to be handed down).
Research project proposals must take into consideration:
- the spiritual, ancestral, cultural, customary, and historical significance of the Tūpuna Maunga to Ngā Mana Whenua o Tāmaki Makaurau
- what the work will potentially impact, e.g. the whenua, cultural values or the public.
Priority: Projects that align with the Tūpuna Maunga Integrated Management Plan and Tūpuna Maunga Integrated Management Plan Strategies.
