The U.S. Embassy in Egypt is seeking applications for the Professional Fellows Program (PFP) to offer promising young professionals the opportunity to gain training and practical experience working in organizations in the United States.
The program is supported by the Department of State, through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. There are thousands of alumni from these programs in positions of leadership around the world.
Support will you receive while on the program?
- If you are selected as a finalist, Legacy International and the US Department of State will cover all costs associated with your international travel, visa, and basic living costs in the U.S.
- Duration: The program is 6 weeks long and all fellows must participate fully in all program activities.
Target audience
- Professional entrepreneurs and social innovators; small & medium business owners and managers who are investing in innovative, socially conscious products and programs; individuals working in civil society/NGOs on youth workforce training and development; individuals working in university incubators, accelerators, and job-readiness programs, and programs focusing on business development, financial literacy, sustainable tourism, or economic development; individuals working in government agencies/ministries, national policy offices, think tanks, and offices working to increase the presence of underrepresented citizens in the economy (between the ages of 25 and 40); with a minimum of two-years of relevant professional experience.
Eligibility Criteria
- This program is designed for people with strong leadership skills who are early- to mid-career professionals and who are committed to making a lasting positive impact in their communities.
- Entrepreneurs and Social Innovators.
- Small & medium business Owners and Managers who are investing in innovative socially conscious products and programs.
- Individuals working in Civil Society/NGOs working on youth workforce training and development, increasing the role of marginalized populations in the economy, building financial literacy, training in technology use and IT development, and other efforts around economic empowerment.
- Individuals working in University incubators, accelerators, and job-readiness programs, and programs focusing on business development, financial literacy, sustainable tourism, or economic development.
- Individuals working in Government Agencies/Ministries, national policy offices, think-tanks, and offices working to increase the presence of underrepresented citizens in the economy.
- Legacy International conducts broad outreach to ensure a wide diversity of ethnicity, race, gender, religion, geographic location, and socio-economic status among participants. Legacy has an established record of including individuals with disabilities and has an open and inclusive application process. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
- No. All fellows must be current residents and citizens of the country through which they are applying. Eligible countries are Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia.
