The U.S. Embassy in Honduras is pleased to announce the Hubert H. Humphrey Program.
The Hubert H. Humphrey Scholarship Program was established in 1978 by the Government of the United States to carry out the promise of cooperation and international service of the late Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey. The program offers opportunities to professionals from developing countries who demonstrate established career and leadership skills in public or private service. The Humphrey scholarship consists of a ten-month program that allows students to combine academic courses at the postgraduate level with opportunities for professional development.

Benefits
- The Humphrey Scholarship provides international airfare, college tuition and fees, accident and medical insurance, a monthly stipend, and funds to pay for books and professional activities.
- The Humphrey Program does not provide financial support for dependents accompanying the scholarship recipient.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be Honduran, residing in Honduras.
- Have a very good academic record.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree.
- Have a minimum of five years of full-time professional experience in your field, prior to August 2022 and after earning your Bachelor's degree, with an interest in the policy aspects of your field of specialization.
- Demonstrate your leadership skills and track record of service.
- Fluency in English (minimum of 71 on the TOEFL iBT, equivalent to 525 on the TOEFL PBT).
- Limited previous experience in the United States.
Ineligible
- American citizens.
- People with US residency status.
- People who have previously received a Fulbright scholarship.
- University professors or academic researchers who do not have administrative responsibilities (except in the field of Education, Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention, and Teaching English as a Foreign Language).
- Individuals who have attended a graduate program in the United States for one academic year or more within the seven-year period prior to August 2022.
- People who have had more than six months of experience in the United States within the five-year period prior to August 2022.
- People with recent experiences in third countries, especially in developed countries.
- Local employees of the United States Government Mission and their families, and remain ineligible for up to one year after termination of employment.
