Call for Proposals: America250 U.S. Speaker Program

MEST Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship - Ghana

Deadline: 26-Aug-2025

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) has launched an open competition to support the 2025 America250 U.S. Speaker Program. This initiative is part of the celebration of the U.S. Semiquincentennial, known as America250.

Eligible U.S. public and private non-profit organizations that meet the requirements of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code are invited to submit proposals. The selected organization will provide administrative and programmatic support for the Speaker Program. ECA will support approximately 530 programs through this agreement, including 310 in-person and 220 virtual sessions, targeting audiences across various global regions.

The program is designed to advance U.S. administration goals by sending American citizen experts abroad, either in person or virtually, to engage with professional foreign audiences. These efforts aim to enhance safety, prosperity, and strategic collaboration by sharing American expertise and values.

Experts will be recruited from across the United States to match the strategic priorities identified by U.S. missions abroad. The program will develop policy-focused content that informs foreign audiences about U.S. society, culture, and institutions, supporting mutual understanding and institutional development.

The program also seeks to build and sustain long-term professional connections between American speakers and global participants. These exchanges are intended to strengthen civil societies and enhance American global competitiveness.

In addition to delivering high-quality programs, the grantee will be responsible for providing timely and efficient logistical support and promoting the program through content amplification to highlight its value as a professional exchange platform.

The total funding available is $2,236,259, and the performance period is 12 months.

Eligible applicants include U.S.-based not-for-profit organizations, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, and public or private educational institutions.
