The specific objectives include strengthening capacity by enhancing youth and community understanding of the linkages between climate change, environmental degradation, and the broader context of conflict and vulnerability; connecting diverse youth voices — including those from ethnic communities and conflict-affected areas — to engage in dialogue and contribute to peacebuilding and resilience; acting by moving beyond analysis to foster innovation and collaboration among youth, supporting the development of practical, scalable, and community-based solutions to climate and environmental challenges; and ensuring impact by promoting lasting results through linking youth-led initiatives to partners and organizations that can support and sustain their efforts beyond the hackathon.
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager for the Urban Resilience Project, the selected implementing youth-led CSO or organization will be responsible for a series of activities. In the pre-phase during October 2025, preparation activities will be conducted. Phase 1 will include capacity strengthening workshops scheduled between October and November 2025. Phase 2 will feature the hackathon and awards event from December 2025 to January 2026. Phase 3 will focus on implementation and follow-up between February and April 2026.
The duration of the assignment spans from October 2025 to April 2026. Eligible organizations must be youth-led CSOs registered or operating in Myanmar, with a minimum of three years’ experience in youth engagement, climate or environmental programming, or community development. Organizations must have proven ability to organize large-scale youth events, trainings, or hackathons, demonstrate experience working with diverse youth including those from conflict-affected or ethnic minority areas, and possess capacity to manage grants, provide technical mentoring, and ensure transparent financial reporting.
This initiative provides a unique platform for youth-led organizations to empower young people, generate innovative solutions to environmental challenges, and create sustainable impacts in their communities.
