The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking technical partners to support the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria project in the Central African Republic (CAR). The role focuses on temporary storage and distribution of health products from regional transit depots to local health facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and temporarily store health products at sub-prefecture transit depots

  • Handle, transport, and deliver health products to health facilities along designated circuits

  • Ensure security of all products throughout storage and transport

  • Guarantee deliveries in the presence of local management committees (COGES) or village chiefs whenever possible

  • Adhere to delivery deadlines outlined in quarterly operational plans

  • Maintain physical and quantitative integrity of products from receipt to final delivery

  • Use WFP-approved transport documents and delivery forms

  • Collect tracking information (GPS coordinates, photos, videos, comments) via the ODK application provided by WFP

  • Maintain and share a delivery tracking matrix with WFP on a continuous basis

  • Communicate operational insights to improve supply chain performance

  • Submit quarterly narrative and financial reports on distribution activities

  • WFP acts as a logistics partner and sub-recipient of the French Red Cross and World Vision International

  • Health products are received in central warehouses in Bangui, then distributed across seven health regions

  • Distribution follows a circuit system:

    • Primary transport: Bangui → regional transit depots

    • Secondary transport: regional depots → local health facilities

  • Operations aim to ensure timely delivery and maintain the quality and integrity of health products

Partner Requirements

  • Experience managing storage and distribution operations in challenging environments

  • Capacity to follow established distribution routes and maintain delivery schedules

  • Ability to use digital tools (ODK) for tracking and reporting

  • Commitment to ensuring security, quality, and transparency of health product handling

Timeline

  • The partnership will support distribution activities scheduled for Q1 2026

  • Technical partners are expected to begin operations in early 2026 in line with quarterly operational plans
