The Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) is honored to support those impacted by cancer through two awards:
- Cancer Fighters® Perseverance Award: The Cancer Fighters Perseverance Award is given quarterly to recipients who have faced a personal battle with cancer (either firsthand or as a caregiver). The Perseverance Award recipients embody a resilient spirit and servant heart, often devoting time to helping others navigate a difficult diagnosis and advocating on behalf of the cancer community.
- Cancer Fighters Champion Award: The Cancer Fighters Champion Award is given annually to a recipient who has used his or her public status or recognition to advance cancer research or advocate for patients. The Champion Award recipients embody a visionary spirit and determination to use their voice to help end cancer.
Cancer Fighters was founded in 1990 by a group of CTCA patients seeking a way to tap into the experience, knowledge and inspiration of cancer patients and caregivers across the country.
Cancer Fighters are patients, caregivers and those on a cancer journey who have volunteered their time to offer a number of resources to support fellow patients during their cancer journey. The Cancer Fighters program:
- Supports you: Share your feelings and challenges with a network of people who have been in your shoes. Through the program, you will meet people who have been touched by cancer, learn from patient stories and connect with your peers. Get personalized cancer support, along with comfort and hope.
- Empowers you: Get answers to your questions from fellow Cancer Fighters who have experience with your form of cancer—from pancreatic cancer to breast cancer. Access a wide variety of valuable resources related to cancer research and health care to support your interests throughout your journey.
- Informs you: Get updates about cancer treatment options and technologies. Stay informed about upcoming events, fundraisers and cancer awareness campaigns. You will also receive communications throughout the year that contain useful tips and timely information to help you fight cancer.
