Applications open for Innovation and Impact Grants in Canada

Small Grants Fund Program (Australia)

Deadline: 13-Nov-2025

The Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation has announced its Innovation and Impact Grants to support collaborative research projects aimed at developing and implementing innovations that address urgent health needs in Saskatchewan and create sustainable impacts in key areas.

The Innovation Grant is intended to spark new ideas and approaches for addressing gaps and needs in designated focus areas. The Impact Grant supports moving promising solutions into real-world applications. Applications must address at least one of the specified focus areas, which include Brain Health, Lung Health, Pediatric Brain Health, and Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias.

The Innovation Grant offers up to $50,000 for a one-year project. The Impact Grant provides up to $150,000 for projects lasting up to two years. These grants aim to support projects that can make a tangible difference in Saskatchewan’s health system.

Eligible research teams must include at least three Saskatchewan-based members: one eligible Principal Applicant, a second researcher from a different discipline, and a knowledge-user who can help apply the research findings in real-world settings. All team members must be formally invited to the application and accept their roles by the deadline.

Teams are encouraged to include individuals with lived or living experience, and there is no limit on team size as long as each member has a defined role. The inclusion of early-career researchers, trainees, experienced co-leads, and relevant community or system partners is strongly recommended to support mentorship and increase project impact.

A Principal Applicant may submit only one application per year to either the Innovation or Impact stream, but can be listed as a co-investigator on other applications. Applicants who were previously unsuccessful are encouraged to revise and resubmit their proposals based on reviewer feedback. The application form includes space to address prior review comments.
