Apply for Home Instead Charities Grant Program (UK)

Deadline: 31-Oct-2025

The Home Instead Charities is now accepting applications for grant funding to support local groups and organisations whose work benefits ageing adults.

The grants are intended to assist with initiatives that enhance mental, physical, and emotional well‑being, or reduce social isolation and loneliness among older populations.

Eligible funding amounts vary depending on the scale and type of organization. Small grassroots groups may request up to £500, while small registered charities can apply for up to £1,500. To qualify, applicants must submit their governing documents and recent financial accounts, and most members of their target audience must be aged over 55 or the project must directly benefit people in that age group. The group must also operate inclusively, holding open membership regardless of race, religion, disability, sex, or orientation.

Grant funds may support regular or one-off community activities, such as weekly get-togethers, day trips, guest speakers, or wellbeing classes. What cannot be funded includes salaries, core operating costs, capital or infrastructure investment, or repeat funding for the same project in a single year. Grants are not available to individuals outside the context of supporting access to a group’s activities.

This grant program offers community organisations a chance to obtain modest but meaningful support to enrich the lives of older adults, fostering connection, well‑being, and community engagement across local settings.
