The Southern Africa Network for Biosciences (SANBio) is currently inviting applications for its BioFISA II Flagship Grant with an aim to support innovative technologies in animal and human health. Flagship grants are aimed to provide commercialisation support and will mainly cover activities for market testing, validation and scaling up.

Funding Information
- Up to Rand 4.5 million can be provided by the SANBio/BioFISA II Programme per project.
- The duration for Flagship projects shall not exceed 24 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Lead applicant: In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legally registered entity;
- be established (with company or organisation registration documents) in any of the 12 SADC Member States (mentioned below)
- ensure that parties from at least three countries in the SANBio members states (listed above) are involved in a consortium for this grant application;
- ensure that the consortium has an integrated team composition that consists of the lead innovator, a business expert and other expertise needed in the project, e.g. engineers, ICT specialist (as per project requirements),as key team members.
- Co-applicant(s):
- Co-applicants participate in designing and implementing the project and must be a legally registered entity in a different country where SANBio operates to that of the lead applicant;
- International co-applicants can be included but they must be self-funded and in addition to the collaborating SANBio member states;
- Costs incurred by the co-applicantsare eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant;
- Co-applicants must satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to the lead applicant;
- Co-applicants must sign a consortium agreement with the lead applicant;
- If awarded the grant contract, the co-applicant(s) and lead applicant will become beneficiary(ies) in the project.

Angola, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi, Namibia, Mauritius, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Seychelles and Zambia.
