Deadline: 09-Nov-2025
The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a call for proposals inviting NGOs and associations to partner in strengthening food security and resilience in Burkina Faso’s Sahel region.
This opportunity focuses on the implementation of the Food Assistance for Assets (FFA) program, aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of vulnerable communities while addressing immediate food needs.
Through this program, WFP seeks to reduce humanitarian needs by improving access to safe and nutritious food. The initiative emphasizes restoring ecosystems, reviving agrosilvopastoral production potential, supporting smallholder farmers, and reducing dependence on imports. By doing so, it contributes to improving food security, infrastructure, and the overall resilience of local communities.
The WFP is aligning this intervention with Burkina Faso’s national priorities, the National Strategic Framework, and various sectoral programs and projects. It also supports national systems and acceleration initiatives under the agropastoral offensive for food sovereignty. This strategic alignment ensures that the program contributes directly to national efforts to strengthen food systems and promote sustainable development.
The purpose of this call is to select a cooperating NGO partner to carry out resilience-building and malnutrition-reduction activities in the Liptako Region and the provinces of Séno, Yagha, and Oudalan, covering the communes of Dori, Seytenga, Sebba, and Gorom-Gorom. The selected organization will play a central role in organizing and monitoring integrated resilience programs while ensuring food distributions to project participants as part of the food assistance for productive asset creation.
Eligible organizations must be non-profit NGOs or associations that are duly registered and operational in Burkina Faso, particularly within the targeted intervention areas. The cooperating partner will work closely with technical services, local authorities, and beneficiary communities to ensure the effective delivery and monitoring of project activities. Through this collaboration, WFP aims to promote long-term resilience, strengthen local capacities, and create lasting impact in one of the country’s most vulnerable regions.
