Applications are now open for the eHealth Embark, an equity free programme for early stage digital healthcare start-ups providing them with the tools and support needed to validate their business proposition, as well providing access to technical, clinical, regulatory and business expertise to support the development of innovative product roadmaps and pathways to market.
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS) are delivering the programme through the dConnect Digital Health Innovation Hub (dConnect) and the Connected Health and Wellbeing Cluster (CHW Cluster), who are both funded by Enterprise Ireland.

What is it?
- The programme will take place over a six-week period culminating in a final event where a selected winner will receive $100,000 in AWS credits.
- The programme is a combination of workshops and mentoring. The workshops range from customer discovery and validation, to assessing the market opportunity, and mapping the next funding and growth steps. Participants will also have access to technical, clinical, regulatory, public procurement and business expertise.
- The format will be a blended approach of in-person and online workshops and mentor sessions. At least one in-person workshop will be at DkIT and at AWS Headquarters in Dublin.
- The programme is equity-free and there is no fee to participate.

Customer Need: Identify and validate the customer problem you are solving.

Customer Solution: Develop and understand how to validate your customer value proposition.

Business Roadmap: Plan the next steps for your business and product roadmap thru access to business, clinical, technical, regulatory and funding expertise.

Market Opportunity: Understand how to determine if there is a gap in the market and if there is a market in the gap.
Duration: The programme will run for 6 weeks starting the week of April 28th and finishing the week of June 2nd. The final event will be held the week of June 9th.
Who is it for?
- They are looking for early stage start-ups from across the island of Ireland who are developing new digital products or services for the healthcare sector.
- For example, your business proposition may address healthcare needs by creating better patient and/or clinician experiences, lowering costs and/or delivering better patient outcomes.
- In terms of your stage of development, you are likely to already have a prototype/early MVP or be ready to develop one.
