The Global Health Research Group on Global Health and Palliative Care (GHAP) is soliciting for applications for PhD training in Palliative care at Makerere University.

The global health research group on global health and palliative care (GHAP) is a research collaboration between The Cicely Saunders Institute, Kings College London, African Palliative care Association, Mild May Uganda, Palliative care Unit Department of Medicine Makerere University, University of Cape town, University of Zimbabwe  and  Island hospice Zimbabwe and is funded by NIHR.

The aim of the program is to expand palliative care access to underserved groups to meet Universal Health Coverage goals and reduce suffering in Sub-Saharan Africa.

One PhD student will be selected to join this research collaboration. Candidates should have commitment to improving palliative care in Africa. To the successful candidates, University fees and other agreed training development costs will be funded, and a monthly stipend will be provided. The tenure of the training program is 36 months.
