The largest insurer in the MENA region, Qatar Insurance Company and the leading global professional services firm, Deloitte and the global cloud provider, Google Cloud are excited to invite start-ups from MENA, SEA and Europe (across pre-seed, seed and Series-A stage) who are keen to explore opportunities in the MENA region. The organizers are nurturing start-ups developing the InsurTech ecosystem with the invaluable support of advisors, investors and key players of the industry in the MENA region.
This is a unique opportunity for start-ups to work together with industry partners and sponsors to co-create new value propositions that will help solve the changing customer needs in the mobility and health insurance verticals.
InsurHack MENA is a suitable challenge for start-ups developing solutions in big tech analytics, AI/ML, behavioral economics and conversational AI in Health and Mobility.
Successful applicants will be invited to participate in a 2-day virtual hackathon between 5th-6th of June. 15 semi-finalist teams from the hackathon will be offered mentorship from the organizers and partners such as QIC Group, Deloitte, Google , QIC DVP, QFC, PRIFINA, and Anthemis, where they will be given an opportunity to refine their solutions. 6 finalist teams will be invited to Doha for an opportunity to pitch their solutions at the Qatar InsurTech Summit, on 23rd of June.
Themes
- Health: A new era of health innovation re-shapes the customer behavior – new therapeutic & care models and emerging technology capabilities will lead to a better healthcare customer experience. It offers the opportunity to boost access and inclusivity, and revolutionize treatment experiences and outcomes for all consumers.
- Mobility: Motor insurances are to be affected by emerging technologies and digitalisation that will help improve vehicle safety, change vehicle ownership models, and increase asset utilization, all of which impact the auto insurance industry and enable a better customer experience.

- You will be invited to pitch at ITC Vegas 2022 the world’s largest conference of insurance and will have an exclusive session with the worlds leading VC, Anthemis.
- Furthermore, you will secure co-building a solution in the MENA region with the support of regional market leaders such QIC, QIC DVP, Deloitte, Google Cloud & other giants and secure a potential investment.
- 2nd & 3rd Prize
- You will secure co-building a solution in the MENA region with the support of regional market leaders such QIC, QIC DVP, Deloitte, Google Cloud & other giants and a potential investment opportunity.
Eligibility Criteria
- They are looking for innovative insurance solutions – in the vertical health and mobility – that are also practical and scalable. Any startups (Pre-seed, seed and Series-A stage) from the MENA, SEA and Europe that fit with the categories of this challenge are eligible to participate.
- This Challenge is open and offered solely to: Startups and Individual Participants
- Individual Participant. Individuals aged eighteen (18) years and/or with full legal capacity at the time of registration. Each Individual Participant may only participate once in each Challenge.
- Startup. A business entity, regardless of its business area. Startups may be required, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, to provide proof of
- company registration by submitting a registration certificate issued within the last three (3) months, or ongoing company registration, or any trade registry and proof ensuring the registration of the entity in the relevant country, and
- a valid professional insurance policy subscription.
- All the documents that may confirm the Participant’s eligibility may be required prior to awarding any prizes (e.g. identity document, registration certificate, etc.).
- This Challenge is not open to employees and representatives of the Sponsor and Agorize and the members of their families.
- This Challenge is void in countries where it is prohibited or restricted by law.
