Deadline: 24-Sep-2025
Submissions are now open for the Coal Accompanying Measures Project. Proposals must align with one or more RFCS objectives for coal and clearly state which objectives are being addressed in each work package. These objectives include supporting the just transition of the coal sector and regions, improving health and safety, and minimizing the environmental impacts of coal mines in transition.
This call falls under RFCS Accompanying Measures, which aim to promote the use of project knowledge or organize workshops or conferences aligned with RFCS goals. The total call budget is EUR 40 million, with EUR 1 million allocated to Coal Accompanying Measures.
Projects are expected to include a balanced mix of participants from academia, research centers, industry, and industry associations. They should involve key actors needed for the just transition in coal regions. Additionally, projects may propose policy ideas to support the digital, green, and circular transitions within coal and steel communities, supporting the European Green Deal.
Eligible applicants must be legal entities—public or private—engaged in or contributing significantly to RTD activities. These entities must be based in eligible countries, which include EU Member States (and their overseas countries and territories) and countries associated with the RFCS.
