UNESCO Dar es Salaam is implementing a UN Joint Project on “Empowering adolescent girls and young women through education in Tanzania” with funding from KOICA. A component of the project aims at strengthening sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education and social protection support systems of vulnerable in- and out-of-school youth, and teenage mothers through increased access to quality, age, and culturally appropriate SRH information and services.

The initiatives will be implemented in four selected districts of Kasulu, Sengerema, Ngorongoro in Tanzania Mainland, and Mkoani district in Pemba. Working with health service providers and other actors the project will support the improvement of public outreach and create youth-friendly centers.

Within the framework of the UN Joint project, UNESCO Dar es Salaam Office requests proposals from competent and specialized organizations with extensive experience in implementing youth-focused SRH initiatives in Tanzania to submit technical and financial proposals(output/activity-based budget) based on the following TORs.

The contracted organization shall support the implementation of the following key activities:

Output 1: Capacity of health service providers increased to support community outreach and provide SRH information, counseling and services to out-of-school adolescent girls, teenage mothers and young women.

Output 2: Social protection and health programmatic linkages between youth clubs and girls’ safe environment platforms in and out of school are reinforced.
