Farm Business Management and Benchmarking Grants Program in the US

Deadline: 22-Aug-2025

UNICEF is inviting expressions of interest for the project “Increased access to Early Childhood Nutrition, Middle Childhood, Adolescent and Maternal Nutrition Preventive and Curative Services” aimed at addressing the high rates of malnutrition in targeted districts of Sindh Province.

The focus is on governance, functional multisectoral coordination and stronger systems for nutrition and ECD; early childhood nutrition; middle childhood, adolescent and maternal nutrition; optimal breastfeeding, parenting and age-appropriate complementary feeding practice promotion, protection and support; enhancing local capacity for prevention, early detection and management of wasting and nurturing care in both humanitarian and development contexts; improving nutrition services, strengthening SBC counseling and family MUAC; scaling up maternal, middle childhood and adolescent nutrition services at school, community and facility levels; integrating school nutrition and maternal nutrition SBC counseling and supplementation; implementing well-coordinated multi-sectoral WASH, health, education and protection integrated nutrition programme responses; and ensuring strong nutrition information systems to monitor and predict nutrition situations and generate evidence for improved outcomes.

This program targets multiple aspects of nutrition service delivery to ensure that all age groups, from infants to mothers, receive the preventive and curative care they need. By integrating both humanitarian and development approaches, the initiative strengthens the existing systems and promotes sustainable, long-term solutions for nutrition challenges.

The intervention emphasizes building local capacities to address malnutrition through prevention, early detection and effective management, while also promoting optimal feeding practices. These efforts are complemented by strong social and behavior change counseling and the introduction of family MUAC approaches to improve community-level nutrition monitoring.

In schools, communities, and health facilities, maternal, middle childhood and adolescent nutrition services are being expanded and integrated with school-based nutrition and maternal supplementation programs. This integration ensures a seamless continuum of care and increased coverage of nutrition services.

The program also promotes multi-sectoral collaboration, combining WASH, health, education and protection interventions to create a holistic response to nutrition needs. This coordinated approach is supported by robust nutrition information systems that enable stakeholders to monitor, predict, and respond effectively to changing nutrition situations.
