Request for Applications: Mary’s Pence Grant Program (US)

Small Grants Fund Program (Australia)

Deadline: 05-Nov-2025

The Mary’s Pence offers vital funding to small, grassroots organizations working for social justice across the United States.

With no endowment, the organization raises funds annually and awards approximately 10 grants per cycle, each ranging from $5,000 to $7,500. Organizations may receive a grant up to three times over the course of their work.

In recent years, Mary’s Pence has seen a significant increase in the number of funding requests, making the grant program highly competitive. Currently, less than 1% of organizations that submit an Initial Funding Inquiry are selected to receive a grant.

The program is designed to support women-led organizations — those in which the majority of board and staff are women, including cisgender, transgender, and non-binary individuals. It specifically funds groups with an annual budget of $250,000 or less, ensuring support reaches small nonprofits and community-based initiatives.

To be eligible, an organization must be based in the United States and have its work focused domestically. Its mission should be rooted in the needs of the community it serves, with leadership and solutions coming directly from those most affected by the issues being addressed.

Funded projects should reflect strong values of social justice, including respect for human dignity, pursuit of the common good, support for economic security and dignified work, environmental care, inclusive participation, local decision-making (subsidiarity), and nonviolence.

With limited but deeply impactful funding, Mary’s Pence continues to uplift underrepresented voices and grassroots solutions that seek to build a more just and equitable world.
