Third Call for Regional Fund: Empowering Women and Advancing SDGs

Advocacy Grants for Gender Equity and Women’s Rights in Egypt

Deadline: 12-Oct-2025

The Regional Fund to Support Women and Feminist Organizations and Movements has announced its third call for grant applications, offering a vital opportunity for women’s and feminist organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean to strengthen their role in advancing gender equality and human rights.

The Regional Fund is a collaborative initiative between governments, women’s and feminist organizations, and social movements in the region, established within the framework of ECLAC’s Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 2020, this conference has been organized in coordination with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). The fund seeks to reduce gender inequalities, strengthen democratic institutions, and support public equality policies, with the ultimate goal of achieving equality between women and men and advancing the full realization of women’s human rights.

Eligible proposals must come from non-governmental women’s and feminist organizations with a presence in at least one country in Latin America or the Caribbean. Applications should focus on strengthening organizational and management capacities to promote environmental and climate action from a gender perspective, or on actions that prevent and respond to violence against women, in alignment with the Regional Gender Agenda.

To qualify, organizations must be legally registered and active for at least three years, demonstrate the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and have sound financial management systems in place. Applicants cannot be current or past programmatic counterparts of UN Women, and staff members involved in organizational management must not hold positions within the Board of Directors or Secretariat of the Regional Fund.

This call offers two funding modalities. The first provides USD 10,000 for projects lasting up to three months, while the second provides USD 20,000 for projects with a maximum duration of five months. These grants are designed to enable women’s and feminist organizations to build capacity, expand their impact, and contribute meaningfully to the fight against inequality and the promotion of gender justice in the region.
