UN Women South Africa, in collaboration with Statistics South Africa, is seeking qualified organizations to adapt and implement a gender-responsive survey on migration. The survey will generate critical data on the lived experiences of migrant women, particularly in South Africa, where evidence-based, gender-sensitive migration policies are limited due to insufficient sex-disaggregated data.

The organization will:

  1. Review and finalize survey questionnaires for gender and contextual relevance

  2. Develop a Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) application

  3. Design and implement a sampling plan identifying high-migrant-density areas

  4. Pre-test survey tools to ensure clarity, safety, and ethical compliance

  5. Conduct face-to-face interviews with migrant women, using trained female interviewers proficient in relevant languages

  6. Ensure all ethical, trauma-informed, and safety standards are strictly followed

  7. Collaborate closely with Statistics South Africa throughout the project
