The Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has announced a new Call for Proposals in Syria, offering a critical opportunity for civil society organizations to advance the rights, protection, and leadership of women and girls in crisis-affected settings.
This funding round is aimed at supporting projects that address urgent humanitarian needs, promote peacebuilding and recovery, and strengthen the institutional foundations of women-led and women’s rights organizations.
Through this initiative, WPHF will provide two types of funding. The first is programmatic funding ranging from 30,000 to 200,000 USD. This stream is intended to support projects that enhance women’s leadership in humanitarian planning and response, improve the protection, safety.
The mental health of women and girls, and boost the socio-economic recovery and political participation of women and young women in peacebuilding contexts. Projects under the peacebuilding component are expected to specifically focus on forcibly displaced women and young women in Syria, including those who are internally displaced, refugees, returnees, or asylum seekers.
The second funding stream offers institutional support between 2,500 and 30,000 USD. This funding is designed to help women-led and women’s rights organizations build their internal capacity, ensuring they can sustain their operations and maximize their impact in advancing the Women, Peace and Security Agenda within Syria.
This call presents a valuable chance for local organizations to contribute meaningfully to humanitarian response and peace efforts, while also investing in their own long-term sustainability and leadership.
