The Fulbright PhD Joint Supervision Program enables Egyptian doctoral students to conduct advanced research in the United States while remaining enrolled in their home PhD programs in Egypt. Students work under a dual supervision model involving both an Egyptian academic supervisor and a U.S.-based co-supervisor.

Note: Clinical research or direct patient contact is not allowed in medical-related projects.

Ineligible Applicants
The following individuals are not eligible:
- Employees of the U.S. Department of State
- Local staff of U.S. diplomatic missions
- Employees of organizations managing U.S. exchange programs under ECA
- Fulbright Commission board members and staff and their immediate family members (within restricted periods)
- U.S. citizens
- U.S. green card holders
Preference Criteria
Priority is given to:
- Applicants with limited or no prior international experience, especially in the U.S.
- Strong academic researchers with clear PhD research plans
- Candidates with well-established supervisory arrangements in both countries
Application Rule
- Applicants may apply for only one grant under the Fulbright Egyptian Student Program at a time
